An Antarctic Adventure Our clients started their trip arriving Buenos Aires, Argentina for 3 nights. Known for its European flavor (often called the 'Paris of South America'), Buenos Aires is a must for its outstanding sightseeing, excellent restaurants and diverse cultural opportunities.
From there, they flew north to spend 2 nights at Iguazú Falls, probably the most visually stunning set of waterfalls anywhere in the world. They had previously visited the Brazilian side of the falls, and reported the Argentinian side to be equally spectacular - as are their pictures!
Finally it was time to fly south – as far south as possible on the South American continent to the city of Ushuaia (indeed the southernmost city in the world) where they boarded their ship, the m/v Minerva.
Their 9-day itinerary on the Minerva took them to the Antarctic peninsula - a world our client's described as having the stunning natural beauty of the the Alaskan glaciers times 10! With every passing moment they found fascinating formations and landscapes presented in three basic colors: white, black and blue.
Accompanied by onboard lecturers and with several zodiac landings, there was ample time to wander among the local penguins while exploring the still-visible remains from early 20th-century expeditions. And when the day was done, our clients retired to the 5-star Minerva to review the day's adventures... and the many pictures that were always taken!
The highlight of the trip, though, was the zodiac safari through 'Iceberg Alley' - where our clients darted through icebergs of every shape and size... each one more interesting to discover than the last.
Truly - and once-in-a-lifetime adventure!
